Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a classic medical practice that stimulates the central nervous system to activate the body’s natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being. National Institutes of Health (NIH) studies have shown that acupuncture is an effective treatment for pain management, headaches, fibromyalgia, women’s health issues, asthma, anxiety, PTSD, and more.

An initial consultation with Dr. Jillian is required to find out if you are a candidate for Acupuncture. If it is determined you are a good candidate, we can perform your first procedure on the same day.

What to expect with acupunture:

Your first acupuncture treatment will take about an hour. Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing with arms & legs accessible up to elbows & knees. Be sure to eat a light meal and drink water about an hour before your treatment.

Treatment Course:

The number of procedures you will need is based on your specific condition, past medical history, how long the condition has been in your life, etc.  Typical acupuncture treatments are repeated 2-5 times a week until maximum improvement is seen. A maintenance regimen is often prescribed to prevent recurrence. Maintenance may be as little as 1-2 times per month.
