FAQ’s

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicinal practice that involves the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to balance the flow of energy, alleviate pain, stimulate brain activity and promote overall health. By stimulating these points, acupuncture can improve circulation and activate the body’s natural healing processes. It’s a holistic approach to health that has been practiced for over 2500 years.

Acupuncture is effective for treating a wide range of conditions including chronic pain, migraines, anxiety, digestive issues, insomnia, and infertility. It can also help with dermatology, neurological disorders, stress management, boosting the immune system, and improving overall wellness. Our patients at Bonita Vista Acupuncture often experience significant relief and improved quality of life.

Almost anyone can benefit from acupuncture, whether you are seeking relief from specific health issues or looking to enhance your general wellness. It’s suitable for people of all ages and can be tailored to individual health needs and conditions. At Bonita Vista Acupuncture, we provide personalized treatment plans to ensure the best outcomes for each patient.

Becoming a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine requires extensive education and training, including a master’s degree and a doctoral degree from an accredited acupuncture school, which involves 2,050 hours of classroom and 950 hours of clinical instruction. Additionally, practitioners must pass rigorous national and state certification exams and obtain state licensure to practice. Licensed acupuncturists are required to complete regular technical training to maintain their accreditation. This ensures that our practitioners at Bonita Vista Acupuncture are highly qualified and skilled.

Acupuncture is generally painless; most patients feel only a slight tingling or mild sensation upon needle insertion. The needles are very fine, thinner than the whisker of a cat, making the process comfortable for most people. Many patients find the experience relaxing and even fall asleep during treatment.

During acupuncture, you may feel a mild tingling, warmth, or a sense of heaviness at the needle site. These sensations are normal and indicate that the treatment is working. Many patients describe feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated after their sessions at Bonita Vista Acupuncture.

We are not currently accepting new insurance patients. We do, however, accept HSA/FSA payments and are able to provide Superbills to patients to use for reimbursement if the specific insurance policies accept them.

The number of treatments required varies depending on the individual’s condition, severity, and response to acupuncture. Some patients experience significant improvement after just a few sessions, while others may need ongoing treatment to achieve optimal results. At Bonita Vista Acupuncture, we create personalized treatment plans to meet your specific health needs.
